Both have a lead actress playing against normal type (Emma Watson in “The End” and Salma Hayek in “Grown Ups 2.”.Both feature large ensemble casts like “the Expendables” of comedy.On the surface, “This is the End” and “Grown Ups 2” couldn’t be more different, but before we get into what makes “The End” great and “Grown Ups 2” look like a shit show, let’s look at the similarities: This week, I’ve been treated to both ends of the trailer spectrum: a movie I can’t wait to see, and one that is guaranteed to make me hate whoever wants me to go see it with them. ![]() ![]() ![]() It has 2-3 minutes to sell you on if you should shell out the seemingly $50 for the ticket, popcorn and drink at the movie theater. I have seen many a movie based solely on their badass trailers and I’ve skipped quite a few when the trailer is less than satisfactory. The trailer to a movie is easily the most important part of marketing. Dustin takes a look at the just released trailer for “Grown Ups 2” as well as at the red-band trailer for “This is the End” and evaluates just how one movie could get it so right, while the other is “Grown Ups 2.” ![]()
